CNSA’s RESPONSE TO COVID-19

CNSA’s RESPONSE TO COVID-19

COVID-19 RESPONSE: In an effort to protect our research participants and their families, the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience and Aging is postponing all research appointments at our Miller School of Medicine (Jackson) and Neuroscience Imaging Suite (Coral Gables Campus).

This specifically impacts the following activities:

• Research visits scheduled between March 16 – June 30, 2020 are canceled.
MRI and PET scans scheduled between March 16 – June 30, 2020 are canceled.

All research participants will receive a call and email from our staff regarding the cancellation. If you have an appointment between June-August, your appointment will remain on the calendar until we decide on future dates. All appointments will be rescheduled as quickly as possible once we know more about the outlook of the virus.

We encourage you to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by following the State of Florida’s recommendations to practice everyday health safety and prevention:

• People who are sick should stay home unless seeking medical care
• Practice social distancing when in public which means staying at least 6 feet away from people
• Cover your cough and sneezes with a tissue or your arm (not your hand)
• Clean your hands often, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. (If soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer)
• Disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects

We would like take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude for your flexibility as we face these challenging times together. We will be in touch with future developments on our website CNSA.med.miami.edu and through phone calls and emails. If you have any questions or concerns, you are welcome to contact our Project Managers, Sindy Jaramillo (305-355-9062) or Ingrid Usaga (305-355-9037).
