Liz Crocco The Memory Disorders Clinic at the University of Miami is one of 16 state-designated clinics approved by the State of Florida Department of Elder Affairs since 1986. MDC Medical Director Dr. Elizabeth Crocco has more than 20 years of experience as an expert in memory disorders and is the top memory specialist at UM. A geriatric psychiatrist, one of her specialties lies in the development and testing of inventive neuropsychological and functional measures to detect Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and preclinical MCI – both of which lead to Alzheimer’s disease.

The MDC team specializes in state-of-the-art, evidence-based assessment and management of cognitive impairment in the elderly population. We also provide comprehensive treatment to patients who are diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias. The Clinic is devoted to high-quality patient care, education of caregivers and health professionals, and the pursuit of clinical research aimed at better diagnosing and treating Alzheimer’s disease and related memory disorders.
