Actively Enrolling Studies

Older AA Adults At-Risk for Alzheimer’s Disease Registry (AAR)

The focus of the AAR study is to work with Researchers throughout the state to study the aging brain and learn more about how to detect and treat brain changes in African Americans that affect memory.

What’s included:

• Memory test
• Blood collection for genetic testing and blood markers
MRI brain scan
• Compensation will be provided. Study Length: 1 visit

Study Requirements:

• Age 60+
• Fasting for blood collection
• Study partner

Assessment Innovations in Mild Cognitive Impairment (AIM)

The aim of this study is to see whether our new tests can detect changes in memory and thinking abilities better than commonly used tests among Hispanic and non-Hispanic persons with normal cognition or Memory complaints.

What’s included:

• Memory test
• Blood collection for genetic testing
MRI brain scan
• Lumbar puncture (optional)
• Compensation will be provided. Study Length: Annual visit (Continuous)

Study Requirements:

• 60+
• Annual follow up visits
• Study partner

Novel Computerized Cognitive Stress Test (CST)

The focus of the CST study is to measure the normal aging brain and those with early signs of memory loss. This will be achieved by correlating cognitive markers with biomarkers of preclinical Alzheimer’ disease.

What’s included:

• Memory test
• Blood collection for genetic testing
• Brain PET scan
MRI brain scan
• Lumbar puncture (optional)
• Compensation will be provided. Study Length: Annual visit (Continuous)

Study Requirements:

• 60+
• Annual follow up visits
• Study partner

Assessment of Middle-aged Offspring of Late Alzheimer’s Probands (OLOAD)

Investigators are studying middle-aged children with at least one parent diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease to learn more about early markers of risk including cognitive changes, and brain-related functions.

What’s included:

• Memory test
• Blood collection for genetic testing and blood makers
MRI brain scan
• Compensation will be provided. Study Length: 1 visit

Study Requirements:

• 35-59 years old
• Study partner
• Fasting for blood collection

What’s included:

• Memory test
MRI brain scan
• Compensation may be provided.

Study Requirements:

• Caregiver or healthy adult
• 60-85 years old
